In Detail is a new podcast that takes you behind the scenes of creative business. Hosted by three architects, Mick Moloney, Kate Fitzgerald and Warwick Mihaly, we’re going to tackle the awkward questions, open up on our own experiences, and bring you the business insights that we wish we had when we were starting out. We want to hear from you too. If you’ve got a pressing question that you’ve always wanted to ask, then get in touch. We need your help to lift the cone of silence around these topics and reveal what it’s really like to run a creative business.
First and foremost they are bloody Aussies. So what does that mean? it means you are going to get everything with a sharp wit and casualness the Aussies have perfected. So it’s funny but also endearing.
The three hosts, all of which are Architects in Australia run their own Architectural businesses. They have each been going for over 10 years. So they are young enough but also experienced enough. So they really do have an angle on what it’s really like to run a creative business. They have little sense of embarrassment and their candour is very appealing. Because there are three of them, each really does have a different opinion and insight, which is great for the listener, they cover the entire aspect of what they are discussing. So they really do not need guests!
As they are SME practices, from 7-10 employees, most Architects will be able to relate with them. Or at least one of them. The Episode about time sheets is a highlight for me. Each had a very different approach and it gets downright bloody, hence the title of Timesheet Knife fight! YOOPknows has a timesheet function like Streamtime, and it’s easy to use.
It’s both, they really dig into topics, and sometimes it gets very Australian-centric, but there is enough where the principle carries to other countries. It really does expose what it’s like to run a creative business.
It is currently my favourite architectural podcast! In-Detail
